![]() With more maps and some more mechanics I think WARNO has more of a chance. I personally do not see how it is more complex than say company of heroes or men of war. I absolutely love Warno, it's my favorite RTS that I've played since EndWar and World In Conflict and Warno does deserve much more recognition than it's getting. If the average gamer can't jump into a game and have a full understanding on how to play within 15-20 minutes, it's a turn off. Warno is an underrated RTS, but unfortunately, it's not that easy of a game for new players to get into unless they really dedicate time and give the game a chance. I don't think there's anything the devs can do to bring in new players or retain players outside their targeted audience. I feel like with a game like Warno, a player is either willing to put in the hours to learn at will or they'll stop playing at the first signs of frustration. Warno takes time and dedication to learn and to appreciate the game's mechanics that the majority of gamer's are not going dedicate the time to learn. I think Warno has a narrow targeted audience and isn't going to appeal to the average gamer. I don't see much that the devs could do to bring in new players. Maybe there could be a few tweaks in the design or additional work could be done on the UI/tutorial to get more players in and stay in. That said, I can see where a new player could be put off or find barriers. Originally posted by Real Slick 1:This game is criminally under rated. It's too gamey and command and conquer like for me. I do not like how it played or the mechanics. I think Broken Arrow will have a lot of these newer mechanics BUT I just don't really like what I saw in Broken Arrow. Which is great but would never have been hard in other engines and certainly not considered major advances. But it needs some new mechanics to make it more accessible, especially things not usually seen like bridge laying.Īt the moment I see the devs trying new things like "taller buildings". So perhaps hybrid regiments should be allowed to be formed in the deck builder under some sort of randomisation system? Maybe even before each game? If a cold war had happened I am sure units would have been reconsituted etc as well. ![]() would they have done it and is it wise? Probably not. The cold war is an unknown so their is a lot more opportunity for experimental tactics like paradrops. ![]() The problem with WARNOs period is we have no idea what they would have done. Even paradrops should be possible for ww2 SD2 if ill advised as they did happen over enemy positions (combat drops). Things like bridge laying and mine laying give players more options and thus more combinations to keep things fresh. but considering how fast units move I think it is in scope with the time a battle takes. There are plenty of divisions.Īnother thing that would bring players back or new players in are mechanics like bridgelaying and mine laying. ![]() That is just my opinion though, because their are only so many times you can stream the same maps. That includes vertical and different widths and lengths of map. I think popularity has a lot to do with content and SD2\WARNO are looking like unless they can turn the small amount of maps they have into a stready stream I think it will stay niche. Streamers like VulcanHD did a lot for Steel Division 2's competitive popularity but the community has still remained small. ![]()
